Google has just announced the Pixel 9a, a new device in its Pixel smartphone lineup. This affordable phone features a brand-new look and a Tensor G4 processor.
The Pixel 9a will be equipped with a 6.3-inch pOLED Actua display with Full HD+ resolution (2424 x 1080p) and a refresh rate ranging from 60 Hz to 120 Hz. The display will be covered with the ultra-durable Gorilla Glass 3.
The new design also stands out. In the images released by Google, you can see the device has a more rounded design with aluminum sides and two rear cameras, a 48 MP main camera and a 13 MP ultra-wide camera.
But the real highlight is the Tensor G4 processor, which is also found in the higher-end phones of the lineup. Although it’s not the most powerful on the market, it’s optimized for Google devices. The phone also has 8 GB of RAM and will be available with either 128 GB or 256 GB of internal storage.
Even though it’s more affordable than the other models in the lineup, it will feature a powerful 5,100 mAh battery, and it supports fast charging of up to 23 W via cable or 7.5 W wirelessly.
Available in Iris (purple), Peony (pink), Porcelain (white), and Obsidian (black), it starts at $499 for the 128 GB version, and according to Google, it will receive software support for at least 7 years.
